Ampgel is a woman who has had a rough life. She was beaten by her ex-husband. He pushed her through the window of her 6th floor apartment, but she survived! She had a pneumothorax (punctured lung), 6 broken ribs and a punctured liver. Her feet were also in bad shape. Her spine was destroyed (4 broken vertebrae).
She now has iron rods along her spine, held in by screws. She had a long recovery, but after 9 months they had to amputate a leg. 6 months after the first leg was removed, the second leg was amputated due to Staphylococcus Aureus (infection). Later, she was reamputated because the stump was too long and painful from the initial injuries.
The doctors said she would never walk again. She never thought this battle would be so fierce or long and painful. Today she is walking again with two new prostheses. She also has pony tail syndrome (scalp feels like it is being pulled into a pony tail), which does not help things. The fact that she can walk with prostheses while feeling nothing of her legs is quite an achievement! Is a game of skill and extraordinary balance, but not impossible, as you can see from her videos. She tires very quickly, and it is very stressful. She never loses her focus and she remains optimistic and confident. Life goes on, one way or another, despite everything. We live differently, but we live well and can only get better because we have a different view of the world ...
